Telluride Gets Hit with 20 Inches


Powder Smiles from Skiers and Riders All Over the Mountain
 
TELLURIDE, Colorado (January 22, 2012) – Mother Nature smiled on Telluride last night with 20 inches of new snow, and the mountain was buzzing with powder smiles this morning. Already boasting some of the best conditions in the country this season, skiers and riders raced to old secret stashes and new glades. Revelation Bowl was so deep that it will take Patrol until tomorrow to control and open it, setting up for another powder day.

UGA Homecoming Week features events for students, alumni and fans


The University of Georgia will celebrate Homecoming Week beginning Oct. 30 with various student activities and culminating Nov. 5 with the Georgia vs. New Mexico State football game. The theme “History is Made on Saturdays” will headline the week’s celebration, which will include events for students, alumni and fans.
The Homecoming Committee of the University Union Student Programming Board will sponsor numerous campus activities during the week. These events are free to UGA students with a valid ID.

FLY FISH FOR TROUT AT CALLAWAY GARDENS


 
Beginning in mid-November, colder weather means it’s time to welcome trout, and trout fishing, to Callaway Gardens.
 
Select lakes again will be stocked with trout ranging from 14 inches to trophy size of more than 24 inches, with some smaller ones included for variety.
 
“Callaway Gardens is a great location for fly fishers who normally travel North to trout fish,” said Mike Wall, fishing operations manager at Callaway.  “You can stay closer to home and, more importantly, spend more time fishing.
