If
you have a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia, your instinct might
be to cling to beloved traditions this holiday season. But you—and your
loved one—might experience the most holiday joy by adapting your plans and expectations.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association,
one in eight people over the age of 65 suffered from Alzheimer’s
disease in 2011, with that statistic rising to almost half of
individuals over age 85 (that’s 5.4 million Americans overall). |

Ask stay-at-home caregivers what the toughest time of the day is and
you'll hear a universal response: dinnertime. This is the hardest
segment of the day when moods turn to the dark side and tummies begin to
growl. Not only is the food-prepping
parent responsible for getting dinner on the table, but must
concurrently keep the kiddies relatively calm. And hum a joyous song
while doing it,
a la Snow White. Expect that, especially during cooking-heavy holidays, you will orbit
the kitchen much of the day with tiny tots and testy teens trailing
close
behind. |

Tips for Successful
Women Fed Up with Kissing FrogsBoth women and men are waiting longer and longer to get
married for the first time, according to the Census Bureau, and fewer women are
having babies before their 40th birthdays, the Centers for Disease Control
reports. Interestingly, more and more women are having babies well into their
40s. Could it be that it has become more difficult for couples to connect
romantically? “Women are likely to be more
independent and professionally successful than they were a generation or two
ago, and that’s wonderful, but it can come with baggage,” says Jane Atkinson,

Is the Economy Killing
Fatherhood? Advocate Reveals Ways to Be A Better
Father in Trying Times Tom Watson knows what it’s like not to
have time to spend with your kids."It used to
sting me when I was working hard at building my business and I’d hear my kids
talking about me," he said. "One would ask the other to see if I had time to
play with them, and the other would tell him not to bother, because he knew I’d
be too busy. It was like a knife in my heart. With the economy as tight as it
is, I know that I’m not the only father with the same issue. |

How Men Can Combat Declining Fertility Trends
When infertility strikes, it can be a massive source of stress for couples, and many are too quick to assume it’s a female issue. Alarmingly, the average sperm count for adult males has decreased by 50 percent since 1938 and is currently declining at a rate of 2 percent each year, according to a study in the British Medical Journal. Stress, exposure to environmental toxins and diets deficient in key vitamins and minerals are likely to blame. “It’s a fact that one in six couples will have difficulty conceiving, but many aren’t aware that almost half the time, it’s the male who is the cause of the problem,” said fertility expert, Dr. |

A young man is on his way to a county fair. He's carrying a chicken under one arm, a pig under his other arm and a basket on his head. He comes to a fork in the road and he's not sure whether to go right or left.
Along comes a beautiful young girl. He asks her which fork to take? She tells him that she, too, is on the way to the fair and invites him to go with her. She tells him that they will have to take the fork that is the long route to the fair as opposed to the shortcut fork through the woods.
