“Speed-the-Plow” hits Atlanta this spring Pinch ‘n’ Ouch
Theatre Company brings David Mamet’s critically acclaimed masterpiece
and Broadway hit “Speed-the-Plow” to Atlanta’s newest performance space
this April. Filled with Mamet's trademark intense rapid-fire dialogue and
provocative themes, “Speed-the-Plow” focuses on the ruthless nature of
Hollywood and the movie industry. “Speed-the-Plow” is one of several successful plays Mamet has written
about the corporate rat race includinghis Pulitzer Prize winningplay
“Glengarry Glen Ross,” which later became a classic film starring Al
Pacino, Alec Baldwin, and Kevin Spacey. |

THE BROTHERS BRIGHT TURN OBSTACLES INTO OPPORTUNITIES

Pictures, a boutique film company, released its latest short film, "Jack
and the Dustbowl", online today. The film tells the story of a family
overcoming extraordinary obstacles during incredibly tough times. The
Whitestone family had their own extraordinary obstacles to overcome. The
Brothers Bright is the writing duo responsible for every song in every
Whitestone film produced.
Composer/Songwriter Nick Kirk and Singer/Songwriter Billy Wilkerson
have written together for 15 years and 8 years for Whitestone Motion

After 10 years, actress
Deborah Childs, will take her final bow this weekend, as the minipulative,
up-tight, Buckhead, social-lite, Trudy Habersham, in hit comedy, “Peachtree
Battle”. Childs, whom originated the
role, and has played to thousands of patrons says, “It’s been the role of a
lifetime! I hate to leave but it’s time
for some one else to live on “Peachtree Battle” for a while”. John Gibson, one of the writers of the long
running comedy, at the Ansley Park Playhouse, states, “Deborah is a one of a kind!

Horizon Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 28th season of contemporary theatre. Horizon’s 2012 season features an audience favorite, two world premieres developed through the New South Play Festival, and a Southeastern premiere. Horizon’s intimate 172 seat theatre can be found in Atlanta’s funky Little Five Points business and arts district.  The season opens January 13, 2012 with a remount production of Horizon’s summer smash-hit Avenue Q. Finances Stabilized Company Seeks Transformative 2012
Georgia Shakespeare announces that the Company has met and exceeded the
$500,000 emergency fundraising campaign goal set for the end of 2011. More
than 2,000 supporters have contributed more than $515,000 to the “Save
Georgia Shakespeare” campaign thus far, with additional donations still
arriving.
On
September 9, the company issued a public plea for support, seeking to
raise $150,000 in two weeks to keep its doors open, with an additional
$350,000 needed by year’s end to restore financial stability. |
